Blooming bush

I have a lovely gardenia standard (ie a bush trained into a tree) in my place that has just given me my first autumn bloom.  A few more ripe buds will follow suit shortly.

They are one of the most wonderful, intoxicatingly fragrant flowers to have.
Can you smell it?
Sweet, creamy, heady, exotic.  *sigh*

The blooms last but a few days, so I enjoy them while I can.  I feel blessed to have them.

My friend says, they bloom just for me......  Now isn't that a lovely thought?

PS  The species I have are known as gardenia jasminoides.
